When is Electrolytes used?
- Before, during and after strenuous exercise
- When losing body moisture due to high temperatures
- At times of stress
During exercise, horses lose large amounts of fluids and electrolytes that are essential for proper muscle and nervous system function. Electrolyte deficiency can lead to performance loss, fatigue and loss in strength and endurance. In worse cases, dehydration and deficiency of these essential salts can lead to muscle cramps and dehydration.
Note that stress conditions and high temperatures can also cause severe salt/moisture imbalances without equine exertion.
Electrolytes is an extremely complete electrolyte supplement in liquid form for horses that provides rapid recovery.
Sodium chloride and potassium chloride restore the loss of moisture and essential minerals.
Tip: always ensure that the horses are provided with sufficient drinking water to obtain the optimal effect of the electrolyte supplement.
